Nismo steering wheel not lining up
My car was always driving straight with stock steering wheel and also had an alignment like 2 months ago when i dropped my car some more. When I took off my stock wheel to put on the Nismo steering wheel, I noticed the stock wheel did not line up originally.
When I put on the Nismo steering wheel, I actually lined it up this time But when I was testing driving it, this is how it looked when I was driving straight Took off the wheel and put it 1 tooth over to the left like how my stock wheel was And now when I am driving straight, the center line is slightly to the left. Neither tooth will line up my steering wheel. Is there anything else I can do myself to center the Nismo wheel? |

Did you change the suspension AFTER you got the alignment, or did you get the alignment after you "dropped the car"?

Did you disconnect the steering shaft for any other work and maybe put it back a tooth off? Your alignment shop should have some kind of warranty on the alignment. Try line up your steering wheel to the markings and take it back to them to check it out.

I got the alignment a week after i lowered the car. I did not change any suspensions after that.
From all the videos I have watched, the steering wheel line and column thing was supposed to line up but my stock wheel wasn't. I guess that's a factory mishap? So I should line up my Nismo steering wheel with the column, then get another alignment? |

I'd take it back to the shop and double check for misalignment

I guess I'll give my shop a call and see if they can fix it. I was hoping I could've fixed it myself instead of having to take time out on the weekend to bring it to the shop. |

Yes. Just tell them you just had your alignment done, but the steering wheel is off center and you didn't do any suspension work since you've got it done. They should redo it for free if you are within their warranty period. They probably need to adjust both tie rods.

Z1 and CZP both list different racks for base/touring and sport/nismo/40th
I wonder if that is causing an issue I haven't been able to find any source that says the steering ratio is different between trims tho

AHA
Here we go: https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/rel...oupe-press-kit https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/rel...ismo-press-kit Base/Touring Fixed Steering Ratio is 13.5:1 Sport/Nismo is 13.7:1 That may explain why its not compatible.

I actually have something very similar on my 14 Nismo. I took off the steering wheel to clean it and I noticed that It wasn't lined up from the factory. I tried to line it up but had the same issue at you. I'm guessing it's a factory issue.

I purchased a flat top and flat bottom steering wheel that had been remodelled from a 370Z/Juke steering wheel.
When I removed the original steering wheel it was lined up but when I substituted the modified steering wheel using the spline marker it the steering wheel was cocked to one side when driving straight. I tried moving it a spline in the right direction but it still wasn't totally correct. I ended up having the wheel alignment done whilst I was holding the steering wheel in the 12 o'clock position. Moving the steering wheel position is an easy adjustment. Have your alignment shop do the adjustment or, if you DIY, the FSM has the procedure.
