Thanks. 3 of the dents go totally through the coat in places. I'm figuring on getting it painted to match the Z anyways. That being said, I paid over $900 for an undamaged hood. I will get what I paid for.

Usually vendors get the hoods via freight (a bunch on a palette) or just go pick them up. THEN they put additional packaging around the box that the hood is inside of. THEN ship it to the customer.

The box in the photo isn't really meant for UPS Joe to be handling. It really is the vendors problem.

I did a lot of looking around and the only vents I was willing to spend reasonable $ on was the Seibon TS. The Fuji hood looks awesome, but I can't justify the $$$/waiting four months for it to be shipping from Toyko.

As for the packaging... it was freight delivery all the way. Hi-Pilot.

Also, it shipped directly from Seibon. Liability is on the carrier. So from a purely $ perspective, Seibon has no incentive to ship hoods in, say, a fitted styrofoam box, like a goddamn vacuum cleaner, or in a crate, so long as they "reasonably" packaged the hood. So, like in all other things, we consumers end up suffering.

The only bright side to this is that I didnt take off my OEM hood in preparation for today.

I took a good look at those. Everyone has a different sense of style and taste, which is fine by me, but I prefer the integrated look.

That being said, I also prefer the "in one piece, undamaged on delivery" look.

It will come via a freight service. Theyll call you when it's in your city. Call back and set up a delivery. Be there for the delivery. Unpack the hood while the freight guy is there. READ THE PACKING LIST, it says what to do if there's damage. Inspect for damage. The carrier is liable for damage so make sure when you sign for it, AS DAMAGED, that you specifically type out what the damage looks like.

it also helps to have the hood delivered directly to the bodyshop, which presumably has a loading area for large packages
