Maybe a bad switch or the ECU needs to be reset?

IF in ACC mode you don't see it light up? Check to see IF maybe the fuse is blown.

Are there any other lights on the dash lit up? I know if a wheel speed sensor flakes out it won't let you turn off VDC but you'll also get a plethora of other lights on the dash lighting up.

In acc mode I see it lights up. So it’s not the fuse problem. :-(

The only thing that lights up is the air bag light b/c I just installed aftermarket seats.

That's your answer ....... Body Computer says air-bag light = on then you cannot turn VDC = off

Do the aftermarket airbag light fix and you will be able to turn VDC off

I am sorry I really did not know that the airbag light affects the VDC control.

Total no idea. How are they related ?

Will return to my installer to do the fix next week.

Related thru the Body Computer coding.

Gummint regulations say that OEM's need to protect people from being Richard Head's so there is coding in the ECU/BCM to "protect you" if you disable an airbag, there is no way the BCM (which monitor's and implements buttons and suchlike throughout the car via the CANBUS) will let you turn the VDC off when it can see that there is an airbag problem.

Otherwise, that great institution known as the legal profession will flog the manufacturer for failing to exercise a duty of care towards the owner who did something stupid and contributed to their own demise (with apologies to any legal practitioners who might read this).
