Door lock freezing
Im having a real problem with drivers side door lock freezing
Its cold herre in Toronto now, almost always below freezing My drivers door freezes, cant get into it just about every day I have to get in the passenger door, which does not have this problem After I drive the car for about an hour and it heats up, door lock releases, but then will freeze up again after a few hours in the cold anyone else having this problem with door locks? I have noticed that my drivers side window is always wet after rain or carwash, it remains wet on inside for few days after washing car this could be the issue, maybe there is alot of moisture inside the door due to bad seal Im taking it to dealer next week to have them look at it, hopefully they can fix it This is a real pain in the A$$ |

warm water = win. had to use it when we had some freezing rain. i get the whole outside of the window, the handle, and the bottom of the door. can be done with 2 fills of a 32oz cup. doesn't have to be boiling, just hot from the tap.
the inside of the doors (prob the window track or the felt or whatever seals that brush against the windows when rolling down/up) do seem to hold a lot of water. i keep a microfiber towel and some glass cleaner wipes in my car.

The Titan's had this same exact problem when they first came out. Nissan ended up offering a fix for it. If I remember correctly it was something to do with the locking mechanism and the internal hinges or something. They ended up changing the design and offering a free replacement to any one who had an issue with it.
I would take it back to your dealership and I'm sure they will do something for you. It might not be an immediate resolution but I'm sure they will come up with a fix at some point. You could always just get out of Canada...It's a warm, sunny 70 degrees here in California today! |

Oddly, here in Dallas TX we had some snow and freezing weather a week ago, but my door didn't have any issues opening. i just had to crunch the ice that surrounded the button on the door.
As far as the moisture goes, I notice that as well. One day after a rain or car wash, if i roll down my window and roll it back up, i notice water streaks. It sort of worries me because that means moisture is in the door, and who knows what that can cause in the long run. |

High temps below freezing for the next week, I hate winter ... although I do like driving around in the snow before they plow. The Z has been in my garage so no freezing issue, but the Camaro has the same style windows and has had no problem with freezing. Is the window freezing or the actual lock? |
