Yeap, I am leaning toward this also. Either I have a street car or a track car. No inbetween. Especially since my neck injury.
I will need cage, 6 point harness, helment, Hans device, Halo seat, etc.

Guy has a set of Factory Recaro's in the for sale section. That's what I did.

I found a vendor to "sponsor" me and sell a Bride seat @ cost = $1200 + rails

Never felt cheap, great on track days, fits my back side (I'm 200 lbs)

Warning tho, any more than 2 hundo and you won't fit!

The seat is such an important safety component i would never cheap on it, AND if you're driving the car on the track it makes a significant difference to the driving ability.

Ever have to brace your weight with your knee against the door or center console? It takes away from your ability to concentrate on the track and control the car. Being solidly in place lets you focus physically and mentally on the actual driving. Plus . . . you wanna be comfortable, to the extent possible

On a daily, a bucket is stupid and pointless because you need proper harness setups to actually let the system save you, as you are losing an airbag at least

Recaro's Sportster CS is a similar model to what the 2015+ Nismo uses and comes with an airbag. Its cheaper than the Nismo, at least from the factory. It looks great and is reclineable as well, thats what i would go to if i needed a better daily.

Bride is great because of the quality, but you should DEFINITELY test fit one before buying. The regular/smaller sizes are for smaller bodies, so you must know if this is something that works for you before going for it

My buddy had a Miata and he took his seat to the fabric shop and he took some measurements. And re did his factory seats with special foams and reshaped the seat . it came out great high bolsters top and bottom it looked like a custom race seat and he used factory airbags but they were$$$$ so any nice and safe seat cost money jv

what about bride seats that arent FIA certified? like GIAS or STRADIA, which are good seats structually, but because they aren't buckets, they're not FIA certified

I daily drove a BRIDE Stradia II for 2 years.

Was only occasionally annoying on road trips.

Had no issue with a non FIA seat. I wasn't running a harness anyway.
