Key Fob Battery
1 Attachment(s)
I've only seen two topics sort of talk about they battery of the keys. Mainly because of the overwhelming results of car battery.
Anyways I've seen the light come up twice withing a week. I'm assuming this means my battery is draining. So I'm going to use my duplicate (never use) and hoping for the best. But I'm hearing the battery doesn't drain by usage but duration. So if I'm also having issues with both do I need to purchase new ones or should Nissan provide them free? I wanna make sure I don't get used before I call them lol. I've had the car from them for 2.5 years |
Replace the battery in the fob.

Fob batteries are not covered by warranty. If your battery is 2.5 years old, it probably needs to be replaced.
I'd replace the battery in both fobs just for peace of mind. They're cheap. |
Get the CR 2032 batteries at either Walmart or Walgreens. Dealer will charge 2 or 3 times as much for something easy to do yourself.

wow thank you so much. I was that close to ask Nissan. I just youtube it and it's so easy to open/close the fod I now feel stupid but thanks guys :ugh2:

Both of my fobs started failing at the same time. So I think the duration thing is correct. Ya, just replace batteries and youre good to go.

note which side of battery is up,believe its +

Time for a new car, Z's are never the same once the fob battery is replaced.
