Default VIS Racing AMS GT Tunnel Hatch

VIS Racing is finally shipping their 370Z AMS GT Tunnel Hatch and mine arrived today. So worth the wait. Finished test fitting today, looking good so far. Have to tighten the hinge bolts down, wire in the third brake light, transfer the latch hardware and adjust the hinges if needed. That will be tomorrow. More to come!

Fitment looks pretty good, would like to see it all finished from a little further back. The weight savings must be huge.

Does it use a common piece of glass?

Today was more about getting it on the car. Still have all the little things to finish on it but everything is lining up so far. I have the FSM so I have all the hatch gap specs which I will be checking for S&Gs. Once everything is done and I have given my Z a good wash I'll be taking better pics. The window is Lexan (I think, definite not glass) but it has a decent thickness so it doesn't flex or distort. I'm guessing the weight is about half of the OEM hatch. I don't have a means to effectively weigh it and it is already on car.

To each his own, but I'm just not liking it. Not a fan of the duckbill spoiler at least on that. If they could of made it that the back edge matched what we currently have giving the buyer his choice of spoiler to put on would of made for a better product.

Hard to tell by the pictures but would hate to get caught in the rain, drain off looks almost non-existant and a giant pond forming...
Tractionless and milmast like this.

It's hard to tell from such weak a$$ pics but I think I like it

How does it look from directly behind about 10-15 feet away at about driver eye level? I bet it's sexy AF.

It does look like it could possibly become a toddler pool.

It's hard to see in the pics but it is angled down slightly from the bottom of the window to the base of the spoiler. With the car on a flat surface water will run off of it. Now if the car is pointing down hill......it's a good thing the window has a good seal.

Even though I like the built in spoiler they should have gone with a non spoiler version first like they have for the 350Z. They probably would have sold more. Size and shape wise it is similar to the 2015+ Nismo spoiler IMO.

Well once I get it fully mounted/installed I'm taking better pictures. Hopefully I'll finish it this weekend. The hinges on my Z are giving me issues. When I test fitted it yesterday with out fully bolting it in every thing lined up but once I tightened every thing down the passenger side sits little higher and it's a little off center. It's not much, talking a few mm, but it is enough to see it. At this point it looks like I'll have to drill out some of the mounting holes to get more adjustment. Also didn't help that the mount holes that were larger for adjustment purposes were filled with a sealant of some sort keeping them from moving when I loosen them up. That was annoying having to clean all that out.
