Default Heated Mirrors on Base Coupe

Anyone have an idea of how difficult or if it is even possible to fit the heated mirror components of the 370Z into the base trim? I saw it is standard on all trims but the base.

I daily drive my Z and it's getting a bit annoying with frozen mirrors/moisture I have to get off

I know some manufacturers use the same harness regardless of trim for components like this, so you can just plug in the hardware you need. Not sure about the Z?

This is interesting; I didn't even know heated mirrors was an option. Even if they don't have the same harness (they probably will, just without the wire populated), if you can get hold of the heating elements then you can install them, and run a line from your defrost signal to some relays that you can put in the mirrors. There is already going to be 12v there for the motors.

You can check the FSM to see if the harness is the same. I'm at work at the moment, but if you don't have it I will take a look for you when I get home. If you do find the heating elements, let me know where you got them.

Yeah, I wish I had heated mirrors in my Touring/Sport with Nav. Oh yeah, I have a 2009. So no heated mirrors, no rear view camera, no music Bluetooth. Bah!

If you don't mind helping me looking that up, I would appreciate it!

Just hoping it will be a relatively easy install.

I'm the same boat.... um.... er... I mean Z.

I don't drive her in the winter, so the only thing I really wish I had was bluetooth audio and the backup cam, but if this is an easy install, I would consider doing it as well. You know, just because.

Link to FSM in my sig if you want to look it up yourself.

If the wiring harness is not the same, the connector at the door hinge may have some empty slots that you could use. Buy the appropriate connector pins and a pin insertion tool.

Awesome, thanks. I will try to take a look.

Any idea what year heated mirrors became standard in the Sport+ trims?

You're welcome.

No idea. Somebody else will probably know. If you don't get an answer, try NissanUSA's web site - IIRC, they have specs for older models.

As far as I know this was never an option on the 370Z model. Heated mirrors would be a excellent idea for anyone that lives or decides to drive their Z in the fall/winter season. I believe Bluetooth and a back up camera is a must for any Z if you don’t have one install one a specially the back up camera.

I took a quick look at the FSM and it is the same harness. Connectors D3 and D33 are the mirror connectors for driver and passenger sides. Signals for the motor and heating element both pass through this connector. Pins 1,2,3 are for the two motors in each mirror, and it looks like 4,8 are power and ground for the heating elements. I'm guessing these wires will not be populated on our models. Check out the DEF and MIR sections of the FSM for more info

So the glass with the heating element can be purchased for $45/side here:

Autozone has them for $68

Awesome, thank you! So these should be plug and play?

I'm guessing they turn on with the rear defrost?

EDIT: I answered my second question.
