Powder coat or not to powdercoat?

I talked to my local powdercoater (who is a car guy, does lots of wheels) and he said there would be no issue. he says they would not use the

I talked to my local powdercoater (who is a car guy, does lots of wheels) and he said there would be no issue. he says they would not use the "bake-off" oven to remove the existing finish, since that does get substantially hotter than the powdercoat oven. he said a metallurgist had tested some wheels he had coated before and there was no issue.
