License Plate Holes
1 Attachment(s)
I've got 4 ugly holes in my front bumper (on the black piece shown in picture - not my car) from dealerships screwing in license plates and license plate frames.
Anyone know of a good fairly inexpensive fix? The dealership said they's have to replace the entire front bumper - not doing that. |

I went this route

I've been told it's not hard to do but, I've not done it myself. I'm sure you can find a DIY vid on here somewhere. |

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'g personally go the plastic plug route. There are all kinds of plastic plugs for fitting body parts to cars in bubble packs or 6 or 8 in auto parts stores. Locate some that cover the damaged area from license plate mounting, and enlargen the holes so that the new plugs will mount snugly. Push 4 of the plugs into a sheet of cardboard for painting, and then take your car's paint code to an auto paint shop supplier and have them make up your paint code and install it in a spray bomb. Obviously spray the plugs, and when cured install two of them, and keep the other two for spares down the road. |

I got my plugs at the Do-It Center, no painting needed for mine. |
Why not just go to a body shop and have it done properly? A good shop can make it look as if the bumper was never drilled and it shouldn't be that much. The dealership telling you the entire bumper needs to be replaced is BS since I had my holes filled as well.

Holes filled, sanded, primed, sprayed, cleared, cut, buffed and mounted. The body shop will have some time into this. |

Mine Has These - Hard To See! ;)

Not to hijack the thread, but I had a question. The previous owner ended up drilling 4 holes, 2 on the black part and 2 on the actual bumper (right above the 2 on the black part and on the bumper itself). Is there anything important on the other side (inside of bumper) that they could have drilled into?
