Shift Knob Buzzing Noise High RPM
Hey guys I got my 370z about 6 months ago and the shift knob has always made a really bad buzzing noise after 5k RPM which I thought was from the stock shift knob. After I replaced the stock shift knob with the M-Spec shift knob from Z1 the noise was still there.
https://ibb.co/fESGHJ I also removed the little metal piece from the stock shift knob which other members said was their source of noise but it did nothing. https://ibb.co/d70aBd I even bought a rubber grommet with a 1/2 inch hole like I've seen another member do but that did nothing as well. I can not figure out how to get rid of this noise and it's driving me crazy. https://ibb.co/jztgHJ The homemade two piece grommet I made didn't stop the buzzing noise either. https://ibb.co/cza6jy https://ibb.co/jHibjy https://ibb.co/h3SDWd Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

This happens in every gear or just certain ones?

After 5k RPM in every gear

Same issue with my vehicle at the same RPMs. Started after I swapped knobs.
|
Did you ever figure out how to fix it?

Installation of a weighted SS knob fixed mine. No more buzz in any gear or RPM. But in my case, the OEM knob was definitely the cause.
