Death by lemon tree

Good morning all.

Unfortunately, this morning before work I hit my car. When I turned the car on my foot slipped off the clutch with the car in gear and flew into the lemon tree in my driveway. Driver side fender is ruined, driver side door is scratched and hood is scratched but doesn't seem to have been warped. Haven't really looked at the bumper yet, will further inspect it on break. I also feel like the scratches aren't too bad, haven't really looked at it but it's most likely the wax from new branches/leaves/lemons.

I found this website for the fender.

Is this a good deal?

How did the lemon tree fair?

Lemon tree is about 30 years old and took it like a champ. Lost a couple lemons tho

Looks like a good price to me for an OE type. Hopefully it has the same fit as OEM.

I'd try to find one that is CAPA certified or ISO9001. They will fit like OEM.

Damn! I thought Trini Lopez' ghost had come to haunt your Z. Good luck with your repairs. Glad it wasn't worse!
Edit: Just checked and he isn't even dead. Who knew?

Uhh... How in the world is any of that possible? It doesn't make sense at all.

If your foot slipped off of the clutch, it would stall instantly. I call BS, but that's just me. Unless of course you have a 4000 rpm idle speed.

In case you've never done it before, idling in 1st gear only gets you to about 4 mph. I don't consider that "flying".

Lemon tree is less than 2 feet away from the car. Also, it was pretty cold this morning around 5 am. When it’s cold the idle bumps up to about 2.2k for just a second. At that same moment that the idle bumped up, I let go of the clutch thinking I put it into neutral. Stupid mistake from my end, guess I was still asleep lol :)

Well I suppose that's possible.

I had a tree fall on my 1978 Trans Am. Crushed the roof down to the seats. Blew all of the windows out. :shakes head:

I HATE when that happens !

Although safer with CAPA certified, you should have no issue with none CAPA cert parts. The 370Z has been around for a long time that panels are easily made and very accessible.

$233 shipped is good deal. If shipping is not included, try the stores in ebay. Lots of replacement parts available there. CARid sells for $233 shipped. Trees always wins. Good luck.

Did you make some lemon juice to cool you off at least after the mishap?

Ask your son to put up a lemon juice for sale stand in front of yard to finance your new fender!
