Installing RS1 CF fenders..

Just purchased the RS1 full CF vented fenders from fly1 and as I was looking for bodyshops to install the fenders I was quoted $500 for a 8 hours job. As far as I know, you just have to drill out the mounting points correct? I believe it is outrageously expensive just to drill out some holes and remove the headlights+bumper for some fenders. Any shops that will do a good job around SoFLo for much less?

Sorry to get off topic but would you consider selling your stock fenders?

my local shop did a set for another Z. They said they had to do adjustments to make it fit - it wasn't as simple as just drilling and mounting

8 hours in the bodyshop for $500? That is a really good price, at least around here. Do they do decent work?

I have their VF1 fenders. There is a lot of adjustments to get your door and hood gaps right. They do not quite fit like factory.Lip on fenders at mounting point is not as wide as factory.I think that price is reasonable.

I have VF1 fenders as well, I paid $350 which was a deal, it took a lot, and I mean a lot of adjustment and it still wasn't perfect. I got a warped fender, ultimately, I had the body shop cut and refiberglass and paint my full CF fenders to make the lines better. So it ended up costing way more than $350. So happy...

Edit: $350 was for cost of initial install

Thats sorta the problem with the market for Z34 front fenders

You either go cheap with crappy fitment:
duraflex, seibon, vis, fly1/aerojacket

or better fit but expensive + terrible service/wait:
Carbon signal

or expensive and JDM wait times but perfect fit:
Varis

or widebody which is a whole new can of worms, including price, fitment, new wheels, etc

Wish Chargespeed did something for us

$95.00 an hr (CA) for labor x 8hrs = $760.00

i think when it comes to aftermarket parts, the majority of times they won't fit 100%. I've looked at every aftermarket fenders for our Z's, and the best one out there, is the RS1 from fly1, at least for me. They look more aggressive imo. $1k for some fenders ain't cheap lol. I guess i will end up paying the $500 then

Like other have said, the gaps and lines will take a good bit of work to make look right. I went through this is Aerojacket full carbon fenders. I decided to sell the fenders and go another route. The guy that bought them was able to install them himself in an afternoon and was happy with the results. Just depends on how good you want it to look.
