OK, so help an old coot out.

Tried Wiki (no definition). Tried Google (too many bad hits). Tried the Owners Manual in the stickies but apparently, there is a separate navigation manual aside from the owners manual so...

Basically, does this mean one gets updates and applies them via bluetooth or USB or something? Or does it have to have a monthly rental plan? Can one have map navigation but not have to have a monthly subscription?
