Do you guys think just installing the side vents on a non FI car will lower temps 10-15 as well or do you need the middle too? I just wanna cool down the car more during auto x and hpde events.

Thanks in advance.

Anything is better than nothing. My uneducated guess is the middle vent is responsible for more than half the temp reduction.

IIRC the middle vent is larger than the two side vents. The location is another variable, although I'm not sure of the dynamics of the airflow in the engine bay and it would be irresponsible for me to speculate as to whether the middle vent dissipates heat significantly more than the side vents or not.

The middle vent dissipates the most heat as it is strategically placed to remove the most heat from the engine bay itself. The side vents are place in low pressure areas to remove additional heat and move air out of the engine bay decreasing drag and lift. The kit was engineered to optimize heat reduction and maximizing downforce or drag caused by the enclosed engine bay. Most of us have experienced between a temperature drop of 10 and 15* with all three vents!

Small world. Come to find out, the company that's powder coating my new wheels (Specialized Coatings) does the powder coating for the Trackspec vents. Just saying.

Bringing this back to the top due to Folks in the west having a heat wave. I have gotten a couple of heat related questions.

I have had no issues when I was daily driving with these in the hot summer heat. Get stuck in a traffic accident on the Interstate for an hour, Not a problem.
With a turbo car, these are mandatory in my book. Sitting in traffic watching the temp gauge rise is no fun at all.

Time for trackspec for me - yay, or just stay out of the 115 degree stop and go traffic.

i've driven in 100-105* without any problem.s My temps will stay around 210-220* both oil/water.

I decided to run to the mall and pick up my new glasses about a 25 mile drive for me. The temps were 94 at my home, by the time i got into town it was 115. Stopped the car ran inside for about 15 minutes, left, then on way home had to get gas and pick up dinner 5-10 minute stops for each within 10 minutes apart. Those two additional stops put my car over 230 for my water temps. Oil was fine staying below 220. Car was fine as long as I was driving but just sitting after driving without anything circulating made my temps spike while it sat. By the time i got home i was back at 208.

I've put it off really because i like how my hood looks nice and polished, time to stop being a baby and cut it.

I didn't want to cut my hood either but some times you got to do what you got to do.

If I cut a hole in my Jeep’s hood and install a vent, can that count?
