SophiaZ, there are different brands to choose from, use the lighting scale as a guide to choose what you prefer as to brightness..

If you need something a little more bluish (less light output), 6000K should be good. I believe some members here run 6000K bulb. phillips 6500k bulbs Good thread to read replacing the oem ds2 headlights with the 8000k Headlight bulb size?

remember, the more color, the less bright. that's why most factory HIDs are in the mid 4's

For me the output is more important than the color. I drive a canyon road home after a night shift with no street lights. If there is debris or animals in the road I want to see that stuff asap.
With that being said what you guys are saying is that the stock bulb puts out the most white light right? Anything higher will give a color change and the apprearance of brighter light but less actual light on the road? On a realted subject I think Monday I'm going to pop out my front signal bulb and see if I can match it up with the right silver coated bulb where I got them for my M3. I think I found the right dual filiment, but the bulb number is slightly off and it's one watt less. While I was in there I was thinking about getting a front side marker bulb and parking light bulb that match the white color of the headlamp (One is LED). Has anyone researched the front silver coated bulb (so you don't have the egg yolk effect of the amber one) and the front marker & parking light? Don't flame me for not searching yet lol.

So than..there are no 6k lights that give off straight white light and will make the road more visible? I've seen some 6-8k lights that show road as well as more off road (i.e. grass, trees...) I am only worries about the deer and little creatures..as I also drive at night

Also..I was not trying to be rude to MODSHACK, but assumptions are not ok in my book. I do not accept being judged if you dont know me. I am an American with a Import..that does not make a ricer...for wanting brighter lights, right?!!! Sorry if I don't want to hit a deer...like in my 350

Looks like on the smaller bulbs I'll just do the leg work and post some results. I'm pretty sure I can find matching sizes from PIAA/Sylvania or whatever, the trick will probably be getting a color match to the stock head light so it doesn't look lame. Sorry for the thread jack, I'll make my own if I run into problems with my other bulb project.
