Aero Workz CF hood.

We are all familiar with Aero Workz front lips for 13+.

I came across a CF hood they make, but have not seen anybody sport one yet. Jay (EVO-R) posted it a few years back without identifying it.

It comes with rain protection.

Has anyone seen or actually have one?

Never heard of it but it DOES resemble a JDM z34 that I saw on instagram. I gotta try to find the owner now; I had asked him where he got it but he said "no maker" (not sure what he meant)

I like the look of this. The vent dividers are closer together, unlike the Amuse copies or ViS hoods that have huge gaps.

I agree with you. And it looks like it has hinged doors to close off the vents. And it's not super expensive. The cost of shipping from Japan might increase the price by a lot.

Pictures would be great if you can find them.

Link to Aero Workz listing here:
フェアレディZ Z34 ダクト付カーボンボンネット - エアロワークス | エアロパーツ・ドレスアップパーツの開発・販売

72000 yen is about $700?! Thats way too cheap for a real CF hood - its Vis, Seibon, Fly1 level pricing

Even a Varis cooling hood in FRP (no CF) is 119000 (about $1200).
Their wet carbon one is 14500 (about $1400)
Semi-Dry carbon is nearly $3k.

i'd like to see the hood color matched to body, with vents exposed CF

cooltoy 07-19-2017 11:49 AM

I also wonder about the fit.

It looks like there is a gap in the middle front area. I have seen this on some other hoods too. It could just be the install.

OptionZero 07-19-2017 12:09 PM

good catch. with the darkness i didn't even see it at first

could be . . . fit is not that great. the cost leads me to think its not the highest quality

I am not sure if it the install or luck, but I have seen this on more expensive hoods and not every time.

Here is an Amuse hood for example.

And here are two pictures of Fly1 AMS hood one has the gap the other one does not.

Here is a Seibon TS. Maybe the installers are tightening the two side hooks one thread too much?

Gap.

Kind of looks more like warping in the last set... maybe the no-gap versions are with bodyshops that are able to heat-form the hood to fit better? I am clueless with this stuff.
