Question MAP lights don’t work

Hello all

I bought an interior LED replacement kit from iJDMTOY that includes the map, vanity, and hatch light. All the installs went well but the map lights. The replacements for these are the LED panels. One of the panels worked fine initially, but once I plugged the second one in, it started making a buzzing noise and caused the other one to go out. After this I was not able to get them to illuminate no matter which side I put them in. Now even my original bulbs won’t work

The first thing I checked was for a blown fuse, but they all were fine. I then tested both of led panels in the hatch harness. The one that illuminated initially worked just fine again, but when I swapped it for the other one I still got the buzzing noise. This leads me to believe this panel is defective. Also, something may now be wrong with the map light insert assembly since its not even working with the original bulbs?

First thing I'd do is check the fuse(s) with a multimeter. Visual checks don't always work well.

If fuse is good, I'd then visually check the lamp sockets for damage and check voltage with a multimeter.

If sockets good, I'd test the LED modules by hooking them up to an 12V DC supply.

Wiring diagrams and more are in the FSM (link in my sig).

Can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I had this issue. I decided to tackle this once and for all. I left it alone because I didn’t have much use for the map lights. I determined it was an issue with the push button switches that are activated when pushing on the map lenses. Somehow they weren’t making the best connection (I’m guessing it was internal to the switch). I found these online from Mouser electronics and gave them a shot and they ended up working. I now have map lights that work like they are supposed to.
