Passenger Seat Too Low?

Does anybody besides me find the passenger seating position to be too low compared to the driver's seat ? Am thinking that the design is related to the airbag angle deployment, but I'd really like to raise it up using shims under the 4 bolt down points.Any comments or advice sincerely appreciated by a new Z owner.:tiphat:

I have never driven from the passenger seat, so I have not noticed that they are different. I also have no plans to ever sit in my passenger seat. :icon17:

Was just thinking ahead on long trips when I want the boss to drive so I can nap.

No way am I trusting anyone to drive my car (even though mechanics to do at the shop when getting service, but that is a necessary evil).

The passenger seat is built slightly different from the drivers seat. Maybe that is the difference you are noticing? Maybe measure from bottom of seat cushion to the roof liner to see if they are different height.

I've spent plenty of time in my passenger seat, but I can't say I've noticed a difference. But people raise the driver seat up by adding a few washers, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same to the passenger seat.

Thanks for the reply. Was thinking of making some shims & getting longer bolts to compensate.Just have to pull a bolt out to check the diameter.I did raise my drivers seat a bit for better visibility & I'm probably used to that vs the passenger seat.:tiphat:

OT...but every time I see your posts my mind reads your userID as "Airmilf".

It's not unpleasant... but I just thought you should know.

I would expect it's the same as the driver side http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...isibility.html

I feel like it's the driver's seat that's too high.

TreeSemdyZee 07-11-2017 04:43 PM

My passenger's seat seems to high to me, but I've got the driver's seat dropped all of the way down.

Airwilf 07-11-2017 06:23 PM

All is good in Z land.If It really bugs me ,I'll shim it higher. Was initially wondering if I had an issue here but apparently not. Thanks to everyone for their replies & input.I have my driver's seat set higher, where it's most comfortable/functional for me.

Doesn't the driver seat also have more adjustment positions?

Yes sir,it does:tiphat:

cooltoy 07-11-2017 10:08 PM

That's probably why. You are able to adjust the driver seat to the heiugh you like, but not the passenger seat.

Me I have the opposite problem. Stock NISMO seats. Need to LOWER the drivers side maybe an inch :(.
