He said depending on the clearance it may poke or be raised an inch or so. I told him I don't that would matter as long as it looked good lol. Stay tuned more too come.
Hey,

I've bugged them for years now for the Z33!

I'm not in the business but it's lots of potential buyers if made to order !

Please forward this pic onto "John" as my social media attempts have not been responded to.

Something similar to the Nismo RS vents but the two side vents can be to catch air and the main hood vent for release !

I hope the Z34 gets a reasonable options as you can't beat the OEM hood!

Lol, my first email to him was about 18 months ago. I sent another one a couple of months ago and then I decided to call him and he returned my call.

I really like the drawing you have provided and I will pass them along to John!

Hey everyone, so John from http://trackspecmotorsports.com/ swung by earlier in the week to pick up my hood, he took some quick measurements of where the radiator is and checked clearance. We spent the rest of the time just chatting about the track, he's enthusiastic to get something out there that is going to have function as well as form for the 350z and 370z guys. So I can tell he want's to make a positive impact with this project.

I'll hit him up soon to see if there's been any progress but in case you guys were wondering, I asked him if he could make us something like this...

He'll likely replace the NACA ducts down the center of the hood with some other kind of venting but he liked the general concept of this hood. FYI, for those of you who are not familiar with this car it's a 350Z race car that ran in the GT500 class of JGTC (now known as SuperGT).

I'll keep you guys posted.

Hey,hate to be a "wet blanket" on this conversation...
But,function or looks,WHAT will hood vents do to the actual performance of your Z?
I mean,get in,start it up,take off.
Gobs of power felt?
I think not.
On the track in conjunction with other parts at high RPMS.
Maybe so.

The whole idea sounds like a marketing ploy from the aftermarket guys.
Hey,they got bills to pay,right?

For us everyday drivers---a deduct from the bank account.

You are showing much ignorance on this topic. These hood vents are being developed for those of us that want to remove heat from our engine bays do to how we drive our cars and or the force induction system we have installed. Yes some will add the vent because they look cool more power to them. If you want to maintain yours cars performance the track, heat is not your friend on any high performance engine so the primary reason for hood vents is to get the heat out of the engine bay so that the engine can work efficiently. Getting the hot air out is not the end all as in doing so it should not impact the performance of the cars aerodynamics. If fact the air flow should be used to create additional down force and therefore aiding in the overall performance of the car.

Now that you have been edge-mi-cated to the basics, you are oblige to if you can not provide any useful commentary!

Functional vents would be best located front and center with a little baffle, that would suck air right from behind the radiator compartment.

My car drives better on the street and on the track thanks to the vents i currently have. Judging by your reply you probably don't know how hot 370z's get. That said, anything that can be done to reduce engine oil, transmission oil, radiator, air intake and coolant temps should be looked at because that heat drains your engines performance, cooks your fluids and will cause your ECU to engage limp mode. You will not be happy and your car will run like crap, unless you A. Drive like your wife has your pair in her purse. B. Add cooling mods. Guess which one I chose?
