Review: iJDMTOY 30W 10-LED LEDayFlex style LEDs
This is not a Hella LEDayflex review. It is $55 alternative to the very expensive (and incomplete parts) but high end $200 Hella. i bought the LEDs for the 2015+ bumper. The LEDs arrived very quickly and appreciated iJDM for the quick delivery. I tested before an upcoming installation and found only 6 bulbs were lit. The LEDs that didn't work flickered with wire movement. I checked the 2 pin connections and they were secured properly. Upon further observation, the flickering was caused by the 7th bulb with movement of the wires going into the case. I opened the LED case and discovered that the ground wire (-) broke off at the soldered joint. It was an easy fix but quite a hassle. The wires going into the LED case moved so I applied silicone the wires going in the back side of the case to prevent tugging and movement that can disconnect the wires at the solder joint. I applied silicone on all bulbs while it was lit to make sure nothing got loose. The supplier/manufacturer should do two things:
1. Rewire so that functioning LEDs remain lit even if one bulb goes off or is disconnected at the solder joint just like how they do Christmas lights. 2. Secure the wires that go into the back of the LED case to avoid movement that would cause the wires from getting disconnected at the solder joint. One positive feedback -- for such a small LED, it lit up pretty well with the lens they used. Another observation.....the bulbs got hot. Nice! Got any pics of it on the car?

Here's a couple. Sorry for the poor quality shots.
LED bracket from Carbon Signal Automotive installed. Replaced old Morimoto halos with the newer Morimoto switchbacks. |
I need to replace the halos in my headlights and I'm honestly terrified of doing it. How bad was it?
|
I didn't do it but after seeing it done twice already, it is not bad especially if previously wired. Despite my abilities, I just don't have the patience. I installed the bracket and LED's while work was being done on the halos.
Really like the switchbacks. This one with the hazards on. |
