It is very ergonomic and provides good shift feel for palm and finger shifters. It is shorter then stock and heavier, which both allow for crisper and shorter shifts.
This knob is very popular not just with 370z crowd, but many other sport car owners. It is designed by a famous turner. And yes the price is ridiculous, but anyone who buys one will get their money back when they choose to sell it if they take care of it. So in a sense it is free.
