The 1/4 section where I applied when dash was cool, it would turn sticky when heated by the sun, although not as bad as day 1, and definitely better than the untreated area.

The 1/2 that’s untreated is still bad.

The weather here is cooling off. I’ve pulled the dash back in-door. Fall is finally going to bless Dallas.

Seems that way. For the severe cases, seems like the new chemical has to mix with the melting stuff to “lock it in”.

When summer time comes again next year, I’ll do the same with the dash in my car.

Are you (filip000, cv129, nis350, ...) still happy with the Shiny Garage product? I have a 2010 with a dash that is starting to get sticky and this product seems like the most promising one. Are your dashes still not sticky and back to having a matte finish?

I have not apply to the dash in the Z yet. I will need to park it outside to let the dash “melt”, then apply the product. I haven’t had time and I recently hurt my right forearm tendon, so I have limited use of my hand right now.

For the spare dash I experimented on…I put that dash back into the attic during the fall and thru winter. I don’t have a direct line of sight to it. It did feel sticky when I reached up to touch it a month ago. I’ll need to inspect it in more detail before I can conclude.

thx for the update. Hopefully you will get a chance to inspect it more closely soon and good luck with the forearm tendon. I too caused myself some grief to my right forearm. I was replacing the heater hoses on my 2010 370z (14 yr old hoses and clamps and the hoses swelled up enough that even with the right tool I couldn't get the spring clamp off easily). From the factory they use double layer clamps there and I had to slowly hack at the hose with a utility knife before getting that clamp off at the back of the block. These is just no room back there! Anyway, I ordered a bottle of the Shiny Garage 500ml off ebay (from Poland) and it should be here in July.

FWIW, let me report that the dash on my side still feels fine. Lately I just did the dry wipe a few times and it was good.

I have applied it regularly and didn't notice any changes.... Mine has not melted yet, but it turns light gray after a month or so, and still get shiny under the sun.

I have the same hope in that I hope it halts the deterioration of the dash. Hard to lose given the ebay price was 26 EUR = $28 USD = $38 CDN compared to the cost of the alternatives.

FWIW my car is a garage kept non-daily and when parked in the sun i use a purpose built windshield shade. When I purchased it in 2017 there was a very slight crack near the passenger airbag. I began using 303 UV treatment due to all raving about its benefits. I'm convinced that product, not the sun caused the tremendous amount of cracking I have now. :confused:

It would be interesting to start a poll of those without cracking and what protection product they use.

Has anyone tried these products (https://stickydashfix.com/collections/nissan) to fix their sticky and or cracked dashboard? It looks like they have a filler product and a 370Z color matched sticky dash cure product. Are their products any good?

I'm buying it now including the filling just to treat the dash ends where the door cards close to, ya mine's cracked there too. Because it's cracked on the ends that never see UV leads me to believe it's a treatment product problem, at least in my case. I'll update the thread with how it goes, dashmat covers the rest. .

I have probably applied it for 10 times now over time. Didn't notice any changes, not better or worse. My car is always in the garage and rarely driven.
