Just put a new dash in your car before they are no longer available.

I Personally Like A Good Quality Dash Cover - Had Them In Many Previous Cars

Do You Know The Make / Brand You Recently Bought - Got Pictures??:tiphat:

Bought one off a stripped race car, but realized deterioration had already started when I received it. Sigh…

the risk is that the new dash will get melted again after a few years... I think that's about the time frame that the dash go south. Not sure how much a new dash and labor cost, but it's likely more than 10% of the cars' value.

Same here. Damp rag, water only.

Well, not so sure. Why is it that some folks have issues and others do not? What are people doing different?

I had my whole front window tinted with Ceramic 70% and added a top 5% piece also. Wonder if that will save me. Otherwise I will be putting a new dash in if it happens. I did it right when I bought my car. It was 2 yrs old.

Spooler 06-02-2021 10:36 AM

On a side note. I have had one of my previous cars front window tinted with 50%. It is too much in rainy weather when it get's dark. It is difficult to see. I would only recommend 70%.

50%?!?

It is illegal to tint your front windshield here in Texas (with the exception of the upper 5 inches of glass). I can't imagine having tint on my windshield at night or in heavy rain. Talk about dangerous...

lots of cars come with 70% factory tints on the front. The 370z does have a factory tint. (EDIT: coloured glass)
You can get "tints" that don't block much visible light but block a lot of the heat and UV

EDIT: I was really surprised by how little light 45% tint blocks myself. If you believe these graphics

There is no additional factory tint that is applied to the Z windows :twocents:

It's just the characteristics of the glass they use. The glass is already not 100% clear.

70% is great. 50% is a little too much but awesome when people come up on you with their bright lights on. Never had an issue with it on the car. 70% is hardly noticeable unless you know what you are looking for.
You rode in my car, you didn't even notice it. I have been known to bend a tint law every now and then. LMAO!!!! All of my cars have 70% front window tint. I will never have another one that is not tinted.

It was grey enough outside that I did notice the reduced visibility. No wonder your car was so slow!! :stirthepot: :rofl2: jk man I know 50% is not bad

As a passenger, I prefer tinted windows all around: 5% please. But as a driver I do not like any of the windows to be tinted because it reduces visibility. Just a personal preference. Living in Texas, believe me I understand their desirability for most people.

I've gotten a rental car before with the front windshield tinted pretty good. They didn't believe me until we looked at another car.

Since you have such a hard time driving, I can see why.
