Sparco r100 seats too tall to fit?

So I was thinking of getting the Sparco r100 seats and went over to Sparco to sit in one. It was a comfortable fit. The guy working there, however, said that it those seats were too tall for the 350z so they might have issues in tbe 370 as well. Anyone have these installed?

On a side note, will i have sensor and airbag issues with an aftermarket seat?

Pull up seat back height off web site. Measure from the rear floor to bottom of stock seat. Add to the height off the R100. Measure from floor to ceiling so you now what you can fit in the car. I'm 6'4" so whats comfortable for me is seat as low as possible.

I have the Sparco Evo II US and it fits nicely for me and I'm 6'1" 215 lbs. My seat is mounted to Wedge Engineering bracket with no slider to get it as low as possible. You should take a trip to Subie Sports in Huntington Beach and sit in some Cobra seats as they have a model with a taller back for those with long torsos. I found them to be conformable as well.

As far as the airbag sensor there is a diy on how to close the loop on it so you don't get the reoccurring flashing light.

So I took a measurement for the seat height and how much space we have. I think I have 4 inches of clearance not counting the Sparco seat base and slider track. I can't find dimensions on those anywhere. Anyone know how tall off the floor those put the seat?

I don't know how tall you are but the seat with the slider will sit you higher tha the stock set up.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. But to clarify, I would need a seat bracket, sliders (optional, but I want them) and mounting hardware. Anyone know how tall that stuff adds up to? I think there's only about 4" of clearance with just the seat alone.

Hey Bruce, my car should be at Specialty Z this week so feel free to go by and sit in it. With Wedge Engineering seat bracket and rail the seat is raise about 1.5". I removed the rail and everything is spot on. I think seat height will depend on the seat and what bracket and rail you pick to go with it. Bride seats and rails go pretty low. I know some that use Buddy Club as they go low as well.

Talked to a Sparco rep. He is very sure that the r100 seat is too tall to fit in the 350 and, thus, probably the 370, without modifying their seat bracket. Not sure how tricky that is or who I would find to do that.

"Very sure" or "100% sure"? I ask because according to the Sparco website, the R100s are 860mm/33.85" tall. My old seats (Cipher Vipers) are 38.5" tall and fit in the car fine with rails/brackets, and Hotrodz's EVO II-US's are 886mm/35.1" tall.

You might want to find a rep with more experience with this chassis unless that specific seat has some hidden inches not listed on the website.

He said he's talked to a lot of 350z owners and seen pics

You live in SoCal so take day and go to a track day when they are hold a Nissan Challenge event. There are a number of 370s that will be there so you check them out. The folks that participate are awesome.

I'm 6'1" and have a long upper torso so I need a seat that is tall so the my seat belts fit properly.
