OEM seats

Does anyone happen to know,I If got recaro seats, and anytime I went to the dealer ship I could take them out and throw my OEM back in would that basically avoid voiding the warranty?

I mean how could they ever know?

Good idea?

Void warranty on which one? Changing your seats will not void your warranty. Too much work to avoid issues if you ask me.

For someone who works 65 hours a week, this would be a gigantic waste of your free time.

No, but the pine tree air freshener dangling from your rearview mirror will without doubt void your warranty. Do not worry about the seats voiding your warranty.

Chuck33079 04-28-2017 06:54 AM

You really need to leave the car stock and pay down your principal so you can refinance the car. The $1k plus you would drop on seats, sliders and rails could be far better spent digging yourself out of the hole you put yourself in.

However, should you decide to continue to ignore all advice, keep this in mind. Your warranty cannot be voided due to mods. A warranty claim may be denied if the mod directly led to its failure. For example, if you put on an oil cooler and your nav system goes out, it will be fixed under warranty. If you put on an oil cooler, and it fails and pukes all your oil out and the motor blows, that claim will be denied as the mod led to the failure.

The dealer ship stated I can't remove the seats or it will void the warranty cause of the side air bags.

Chuck33079 04-28-2017 10:43 AM

The dealer is not the one who determines what the warranty does and does not cover. The warranty is a contract between you and Nissan North America. North Bumfucksville Nissan has very little say in the matter.

Edit - I would be more concerned with your insurance company than the car manufacturer. If you had an accident and they found out you had disabled or removed key components of the safety systems, they would probably cornhole you extra deep. Plus, I would think you would be opening up a really large liability if you had a passenger that was injured as a result.

Upholster those in some knockoff BRIDE fabric and you'll be good to go.

Just go buy the seats already... you know you want them. Maybe the retailer could hook you up with a financing plan so you don't have to pay for it at once.

I was just thinking the same damn thing...:rofl2:

SINISTER 04-28-2017 07:37 PM

CSC is not even covered by the warranty ...so warranty is essentially useless since nothing else breaks down in these cars that is important and/or that you could not fix yourself. You see if you dont fix it yourself the stealership will fix whatever little thing you brought it in for and then break something more important...that is their method and their stupidity..:icon17:

I figured as much. But it was easier to quote you than think of a way to say it myself. :happydance:
