I did this and it came out awesome. Sadly I can't say accurately how well it held up because someone hit me in a parking lot a few months after painting it and I stripped it. It's still waiting for a repaint

Awesome.. It's cheap enough to give a go and I can always take it a pro if it comes out bad. I want to shave the front emblem pretty badly as well.

Did you wetsand the basecoat before clear? Can you even wetsand a metallic base? Maybe I need to learn a little more about painting before I put this on the list.

Here's a couple better pics. I wet sanded and applied some Scratch-X to shine it up. I think it looks pretty good

I also ordered the 3M clear bra and another set of rattle cans for the next time.

yah, looks cleaned up!

I attempted to apply clear paint protection film, but the spoiler has too many contours and curves for an amateur to get it right. Anyway, it looks awful but will leave it on until I can schedule a professional job. At least it will be protected for now.

My wife didn't mention they are scraping the highway on the route to work. That's why the damn thing looked like swiss cheese. And the construction will be ongoing for quite a while.
So... We found an alternate route for her last night. A toll road which literally leads right to the front entrance of the hospital where she works.

humm... im a bit worried how well the paint will remain on the bumper instead of the clearbra when u pull up to have the pro redo it. :ugh:

dogdamn.. u let ur wife drive ur car to work? im so glad i dont share cars with my wife. i mean my wife has no interest to drive my cars. :icon17: nor have any interest in cars. her car is so scratched up from daily use :shakes head:

Kzonts 04-23-2017 07:36 PM

Yeah. We'll see... I plan to clean it up some more and repaint anyway.

I travel quite a bit and take the SUV to the airport, so the wife drives the Z.

Exactly why I bought a manual. Nobody in my family knows how to drive it and the only people that can drive it I actually trust driving it

Kzonts 04-24-2017 04:34 AM

Mine is a manual. She knows how to drive it. Her father taught her long ago and we've had several vehicles with manual tranny's...

I seen this before but just in pics not in person. It did look like the pw bumpers are a shade or so off the rest of the car. I thought it was the angle of the pics or something that made it look like that
