using the specific site search on google helps a lot. The forum search blows.

I personally use a DOD LS430W cam, but if I had to do it again I would get the cheaper G1Wc (price not quality of unit).

I used a G1W for less than 1 month before the suction fell apart and wouldn't hold to the windshield due to heat, and also for whatever reason, it would never save the time stamp and I always had to manually adjust the date every time I turned the car on...returned it and now waiting for the Thinkware F770 to arrive in the mail.

That looks like a cool unit. The front and rear cameras is nice, and something I would like to have.

Didn't really need/want a dash cam but couldn't resist the "as seen on TV" unit I found at Office Depot for less than $8 in the close-out bin. Lo-res and feature-poor but what can one expect for $8? I was pleasantly surprised that it worked at all.

I've been using a Blackvue DR650S-2ch for both front and rear recordings since December (hardwired and using a Motopark Multi Safer). I wanted a dash cam that was from a reliable company, had a strong parking mode feature, and was extremely discreet. Once it's installed, people don't really know that it's there as it seems like it's part of the car itself.

The camera itself is pretty pricey since it's considered one of the top tier dash cams that are out there, but it's totally worth it. Luckily I haven't really HAD to use the dash cam, but it's worth it for the peace of mind knowing that I have footage both in front, back, and while it's parked in case anything happens.

Any pictures of how you have them mounted? I'm looking at the same setup but not sure how the view will be with the rear spoiler (2011 Nismo).

I too have the dr650s-2ch.
I have my front mounted right by my rearview mirror right by the black..dotted film thingy. I have all, but the recording light turned off to be more discrete.

Just curious about the rear, i cant find a decent place to put it without being in the way(blocking my rear view mirror) or a place to have a good 'stick'. Where did you put yours?

Here are some pictures that I took during my lunch break at work. I made sure to get some angles of both the front and rear cameras.

From some of the pics, you can see that the cameras are actually kind of hard to spot - which is exactly the reason why I bought this model! A 24% tinted rear helps a lot too.

For rear placement, I stuck the 3M tape near the top of the hatch's glass. I have a 16 Nismo, so the spoiler is much smaller than the previous Nismos which doesn't block the view of the camera. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure how this position will work out for Z's with larger spoilers/wings. However, what's great is that the camera itself can be rotated once stuck, so if it needs to be tilted up or down more it can be adjusted to the angle of your choice.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good info and photos. Thanks.

How did you hardwire it? Eg. Where did you wire it into? Did you tap it into a fuse?

Yes, I hardwired it into the fuse box using a Multi-Safer and two Add-a-circuit kits (one to constant and the other to ACC). It's up to you where you want to tap into. For me, I used the Stop Lamp for the constant. For the ACC, I used an open spot that was in between the RR. Def and the Cigar Lighter.

I highly suggest getting something like a Multi-Safer or a Power Magic Pro if you want to hardwire and take advantage of parking mode. This will ensure that your battery doesn't get drained since you can customize cut-off points.

I originally had a G1W, but "upgraded" to a Rexing V1. The V1 was twice the price as the G1W, but the quality was about the same.

I have it mounted to the windshield behind the rear-view mirror (you can't even really see it from the driver's seat). I used an "Add-a-Circuit" to piggy-back off of one of the fuses in the panel next to the driver's side door.

Here's my "How-To" thread on how I installed it:
