Spoilers,wings and things
First off I absolutely love all the various kits i see offered for the 370, however I believe my mission has become to make my my car as stock appearing as possible. As it stands know with exception of the 3" exhaust and associated noise it looks stock. By the time they here bov rush its too late.
One question is need for rear spoiler or wing, read some articles and depending on time invested ( CAD at a minimum preferably wind tunnel) wings/spoilers can actually have detrimental effect. Probably only manufacturer that has $ for this would be Nissan, I wonder if they took time to tunnel test the Nismo wing? I do tend to run the car as its meant to be driven but as mentioned like to keep plain jane as possible. Also, has anyone looked or thought about venting the engine through the inner fender area. I'm thinking something like a 2" hole through the underbay inner steel fender area, maybe going as far as mounting pull fans to "suck" some of the engine bay heat out..once again in the name of stealth. |
Any aero stuff you do on your car is only effective WELL above 80-90 mph.
For most, its just a styling option. On venting your engine, what is the purpose? You plan on doing heavy tracking? IMO,if the plan is improved response, slap on some HFC's with the stock intake. Drop in some K&N"S. To personalize your Z exterior, cover the B-pillars with carbon fiber. ZCF has e'm on Ebay for 90 bucks a set, shipped. |
I believe that Nismo wing has been tested.

nissan was promoting zero lift a while back when the Z's were still new. pretty sure the factory rear spoiler, along with the front diffuser, are part of the zero lift design... meaning both are functional
