EVO-R F1 Mirrors leave a gap for water to get in?
Just installed a set of these, kind of concerned about the 1/2inch worth of gap between them and the weather stripping on the door. The stock mirrors have that plastic trim piece behind them, I tried getting it off to fit behind the evo-r's but I'd have to grind down some stuff on them for them to sit flush.. am i supposed to use these? It didnt seem like i was. but i feel like water can get in that gap.
I'll take a pic tomorrow |

There is supposed to be a piece of black tape that comes with them to cover that. Did you get yours second hand?

Oh ya i have the tape, the part im talking about is over to the left past that closer to the hinge.. like the left side where the black tape ends on your pic under the point of the triangle. ill take a pic later. maybe it doesnt matter with the door closed.
Edit: actually ya the tape doesnt even go over a part where water would get in anyway, it's just for looks. or at least thats what it seems to me. |

JenovaI when screw the 3 screws, did you make sure they are on the correct thread? If force screw in cause the screw not screw in straight will make the base little off.

The screws definitely went in correctly into the holes, no problem there.
Here are some pics: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet I could definitely get water in the door if it rained or I washed it so this is concerning me, you can see there's a huge gap on the close up with the door closed. I can't see a way the black sticker would block this sufficiently, There's no way it would properly bridge and stay adhered to the weather strip in the door. |

Really? Well i guess by the window glass ya huh..
I'll doublecheck after work to see if that area is a non-issue area. Either way tho I don't want a giant gap, maybe i'll superglue some universal rubber weather strip in there. |

I just cut the weather strip so it would fit snug. I don't get any water inside the car!
