window problem

First off, I've searched and read the threads on resetting the windows when they won't auto close. That isn't the problem but I tried it just to make sure. My drivers window does not drop the 1/8 inch or so that it should when the door is opened. Passenger side works fine and the window operates normally otherwise. I have a roadster and the window is catching the top and not sealing properly. It is under warranty so I dropped it off for service. Diagnosed as bad window motor. Motor changed out and problem still exists. Re-diagnosed as a control module, changed and still have problem. 3 days later and consulting NISSAN tech the dealer still has no solution. I thought some of you tech gurus might have an answer. Thanks

Have you tried the long reset?

Put the car in on mode (like it's running, but without running). Close the doors.
Push the switch down, but not all the way down into the auto mode, for 20 seconds.
Now pull up, but not into the auto position. Once it reaches the top, hold for another 20 seconds.
This should reset everything.

:iagree:

If that doesn't work, try a different dealer ... hopefully one that's actually competent :ugh:

Haven't tried that. I would think both windows would have the problem if it required a reset. Maybe the dealer will eventually figure it out, they're the only one close by. Too bad, today was "top down" weather and tomorrow is going to be even nicer  At least they gave me a Versa Note as a loaner!

Nope. The windows have to be reset separately.

There are two ways. One is the reset procedure mentioned above and the other is by disconnecting your battery and then reconnect. That's a dealer misdiagnosis I believe.
