Window not working, HELP! (Reset not working)
Hey guys,
I searched and searched, but I couldn't find anything. Could really use some help. So I have been fixing up a 2009 370z and recently took it to a Nissan dealership to put a new door actuator in, because the driver side door wouldn't lock. After they put that in I realized the driver side window was doing the classic needs to be reset problems. Window was going down after you open the door and not back up when you close it, and auto features weren't working. Well did the reset and nothing. Did the reset 100x and nothing. Bought a new motor and installed it, nothing. Nissan dealership won't take accountability or help further. Any ideas on what could be causing the window to work, but not program itself so that it won't auto seal when the door opens or auto features won't work? Really lost, thinking maybe something with the regulator? |
Possibly a limit switch for the window or the door switch.

Is this the initialization procedure that you tried? If not maybe try this. Good luck!

The door switch tells the car if door is closed. Limit switches, if they exist, would be part of the regulator. FSM will have locations, functional descriptions, wiring diagrams, etc.
Edit: Find a new dealership. |
I'll look into the the limit switch. I believe the door switch works, because if I hold it then release it the window will move down slightly. Just not up when I press it in.

After trying every thing listed, I'm wondering if the window itself got adjusted poorly and is causing the reset to not work. Does anyone have experience in that area? I know the windows are complicated to mess with.

Be sure both door are closed, if the doors are open the window reset don't work
|
Yeah, I tried that. No go on that either. Thanks though

Wanted to follow up to help anyone else with this problem. The actual physical window switch was going out I guess. I didn't know this had a play in the window settings to auto up and down but I guess it does. So if your Z is having the same problems I listed try replacing the window switch.
