Thanks to Sergio@3rd Gear Customs in Temecula CA. For those that may not be feeling the Nikko or Moonbeam.

Z-Girl 12 10-30-2016 06:18 PM

Wow! Nice work!

loiro370z 10-30-2016 06:38 PM

You or the builder at SEMA?
If so, what the booth number?

axmea? 10-30-2016 07:49 PM

You took your car from WA to Temecula?
It is an alternative to the two alright. Much more simple. Can be much better if the flares lined up with the Z's body lines.

OptionZero 10-30-2016 08:17 PM

agreed above - the flares don't track with the natural curve of the wheel arches

God-Speed 10-30-2016 09:02 PM

I agree with the other two. But I do like it, it just needs to be fine tuned on the flares.

JerryDeluxe 10-30-2016 09:05 PM

It looks cool but I'm not feeling the fronts, it covers the top of wheel.

OptionZero 10-30-2016 10:31 PM

Oh, and the black rubber sealant going around the arches . . . not straight, totally messy

These are generic overfenders that were slapped on, not fitted to match the body properly

sorry

the details are just not there

also, why would you go custom widebody without coilovers and wheels to get the look? fitment is not on point

shika805 10-31-2016 12:02 AM

The rear is not bad at all. The front looks a little too low for me. They looks like my 240Z fenders. Nice work tho.

OptionZero 10-31-2016 02:21 AM

Multiple companies make generic arched fenders like that

The difference is in the execution, plus stance. Not present here

JC-Nismo 10-31-2016 03:29 AM

I don't hate it, but don't love it either. Nismo's have awesome curves already, it'll kinda be like Beyonce getting a azz injection............ WHY???

Xplicit97 10-31-2016 08:13 AM

Lots of haters I guess.. To each their own

This, I really don't like the bolted on look. Looks like some guy just gots some wood screws and drilled the fenders on in about 2min. On a Jeep Wrangler or something like that would fit the look of the car but not a Z. But it's your car and not mine.

:ugh2:

are these the wonder japan flares?

OptionZero 10-31-2016 12:31 PM

Were the OEM fenders cut under those flares? Looking at this work I actually have to ask

You can laugh people off as "haters" but you can't ignore the factual observations. That black sealant looks unevenly applied

Actually I'm on bags, and the fenders are not generic they're made by Wonder Car-Modify. I haven't updated my signature. Thanks for the opinion though.

nis350 10-31-2016 05:14 PM

yeah. feel the same here.

I do like the wide-body look, but because these are bolted on as extension to the stock fenders, they are too low and covering too much of the tires. Think the worst part is that they don't really flow with the rest of the car. They just look too 'after-market'. Sorry.

Builder will be, car wasn't completed in time for SEMA unfortunately

its always hard to see how nice cars are until you see them in person but its looking pretty good! Thanks for posting!
Of course if everything was molded that would be more sick but of course that cost $$$$$.

nismolucino 11-01-2016 01:06 AM

Pretty much feel how others have already said, the rear is decent but the front just hangs down too low and doesn't really flow.

I remember this build, didn't you post this on the 370Z Facebook page?

Nithmo 11-01-2016 02:34 PM

OP must love sandblasting his fenders... That paint is going to get the **** beat out of it where the over fenders end prematurely...

edliaszenik 11-02-2016 04:44 PM

This is poorly executed in all facets. Sorry but not my cup of tea.

Money wasn't a factor. This build was not cheaply done. Everything was done for a purpose. I built this car for myself, it was built with a theme in mind. I wanted to mix styling of the classic 240Z with my modern Z. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, and I can appreciate that. I wanted to be different. I love wide bodies (this is my second). I had a fully custom 240sx previous to owning either of my Z34s. That build was also a love it or hate it affair. I've seen several SEMA 370Z cars this year that have had different variations of ZG style fender flares, including Chris Forsbergs. My fenders are in fact cut and welded, and are completely functional. The best image I have been able to come across (after developing my concept) is this for my styling idea. Like I said it's not for everyone. Just thought some people may be interested in different wide body builds outside of Nikko and Moonbeam.

I mean if you want nothing but positive feedback ask your parents. I'm giving you my honest opinion. If you're happy with your build, then so be it. I just wouldn't do that to my Z. No reason to get butt hurt over it.

Carbon Signal is a completely different look than I was going for. I wanted the ZG style fender flares. The theme of my car is a throwback to the S30. CS fender flares are more of a LW style. As I've repeatedly stated I wanted to do something different. Not something that has been done on a bunch of Zs. Nothing against CS or Nikko, I just wanted to be different. As far as buying cheap flares, well they are the only company that I found that made ZG style flares for a 370Z Nismo.

Typical car forums... Now what good were either of your comments? What did they accomplish? Anything? Other than just being a Troll I suppose... I'm not looking for only positive feedback.. However there is a difference between constructive criticism and just being a troll and being negative. Saying it is "poorly executed in every facet" not only is not constructive, it's plain rude. Not only that, but again that is merely your opinion. If you don't like it fine, just say hey it's not my style. If you insist on being critical maybe give your reasons, suggestions etc if you feel so compelled to do so. In other words try using a bit more respect and tact maybe.

This was not a build for purists, this wasn't a build for the track guys. In reality it wasn't a build for anyone aside from myself. If others enjoy it great, if not well they can go kick rocks. I can understand and appreciate this not being everyones style. What I can't appreciate or respect is people talking trash for the sake of talking trash. I know that A LOT of blood sweat and tears and painstaking detail went into this build. I can not nor will I take credit for the actual build itself. The concept was mine, the work was done by Sergio @ 3rd Gear Customs Honestly pictures do not come close to doing justice.

I think you made your opinion known.. Twice in fact. The fenders are 370Z specific, NOT generic.. As far as suspension I am on Airlift suspension, so I have that covered thanks.

I'm not trolling you dude, I just don't like what you did. Like you pointed out, it's my opinion. I don't have to like everything and I don't have to spare your feelings.

Some people just can't handle criticism, it hurts their inner child.
