How to tell: OEM Nissan Parts?
Well, the unthinkable happened on the weekend: some prick backed into my Z in the parking lot and of course, forgot to leave his contact info . After filing a hit & run police report, contacting my insurance company, tomorrow I will be taking it to a body shop to get an estimate on the repairs. The rear bumper is indented and pushed out of position and the left tail light assembly is cracked. Aside from going to a reputable body shop, which I am going to, is there any way to verify I have genuine OEM Nissan parts?
Also, what is behind the rear bumper on the lefthand side? Anything I should be particularly worried about (i.e., check for damage)? |

x2^ Check for receipts and its not easy all the time to check unless you remove the parts. Most shops make extra mullah by purchasing aftermarket oem bumpers and lights which IMO are just as good if not sometimes better in quality but I too would always want to keep the bumpers the same manufacturer if i kept it oem.

Thanks for the input everyone. My bumper is dented so it is being replaced. Will follow-up with how this works out when the parts are in & the car is sent to the shop. Hoping to get it there & home before the snow flies, which could be any day now...
edit: are the A7 and the M6 bumpers different? Last edited by Mhaddy; 12-01-2009 at 09:00 PM. |
