If you'll note in his post, he specifically mentions that he noticed the damage upon removing the front license plate mount.

Yes I did, but the scratches on his other post are extended outside of the plate holder and they are not showing up here on this pic.

Well, I agree they the scratches appear to extend towards the RH side of the car beyond the edge of the license plate holder, but in the first day pic that is the far side from the camera. I'm not so sure you would expect to seem them from that angle. So maybe they were visible and just went unnoticed?

the scratches on the passenger side is quite deep and noticeable with what appears to be white or gray paint. It is at least a few inches outside of the plate holder, probably more if the pic wasn't cut off.

If the dealer/seller tried to cover it up, I imagine they would at least buffer off the white paint?

I guess anything is possible......
