iJDMTOY Rear Fog Light install...
After thinking about it today, I went and ordered the iJDMTOY Rear Fog Light kit from Amazon. I also ordered the LED replacements for the interior and licence plate as well. I have a couple of questions...
First question is... Does anyone know what that grey plug is mounted next to the stock rear reflector where the fog light goes? I noticed that plug when I was getting the exhaust installed. Second question is... Does anyone on here have this rear fog light installed on their Z? If so, how long has it been installed and what are your thoughts? Going through the reviews on Amazon, seems that some are experiencing moisture/condensation inside the lens and some are experiencing failing LED's. Anybody here having the same issues, or other issues? |
Well so much for that... I just cancelled the order. Too much crap about the rear fog light and those cheap LED replacement bulbs.

I can't say much about the iJDMtoy light because I bought the fog JDM fog light from Z1 (it was a Nissan Genuine part), and I wish I had gone with the EVO-R light honestly. It works but I am not sure if it has dual intensity. The harness that it came with only allowed the option for on with brakes, OR on with headlights. I might try a new harness with more connectors to see if can work with tail lights AND brake lights. So in the end, I scratched off the idea of iJDMtoy and went with Nissan Genuine Parts and I regret it. Wish I had gone with EVO-R to begin with. My 2 cents... :ugh2: |
In case you missed it, I cancelled the order.

Not sure why you cancelled. I've been rocking my fog light from them with no problems

Too much hit and miss with quality. I don't feel like spending $80 on a light that's either going to start getting moisture in it or LED's starting to die in it in 6 months or less.
I'll probably revisit it at a later date. |
Been about 7 months since I installed mine. No problems at all and it looks great I would say it's worth it

Another option if you're still thinking.. is Top Secret. They're expensive but I love them. Nothing but the best my my Z :)
Hooked up to my brakes with flasher feature on. https://vimeo.com/184806605 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I've had mine in for a few months, works great and gets a lot of complements.
Living in SoCal, it hasn't experienced much weather but, it did rain here once and no problems |
Just to add onto my previous post, the rear light has seen lots of rain and a wash at least once a month. I haven't seen any water inside of the light housing.

Mine lost the lower led's. It's junk.

It's nice. Not gonna lie, but when I got it. I tested it out with a 9v to make sure all the lights work, and guess what? Brake light, and running light work but the reverse doesn't work, and the red plastic piece fell off. I was gonna toss it because I was too lazy to return it but now I'm just gonna seal it back on with butyl and wrap the piece in red film so I don't see the chrome for the reverse. Looks tacky with the red/chrome combo anyways. It's decent for $80 cuz you don't have to buy any extra harnesses and it's a simple tap for power

Oh wait, I see now, you were "too lazy to return it" Well, that's a great excuse:icon14: |

Stick with oem JDM version or evor version. I put an led 20 led bulb on a single bulb and its bright. Almost 3 years no problems and constantly washing my car.
