Z speed under cover fitment?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,

I bought a 09-14 OEM nismo front bumper and the under cover to go with it from concept Z but my shop is having issues with a fitment.

Vendor told me it's supposed to bolt right up but it's a no go.

Mines a 12 370z sports touring trim with nav. Anything I'm doing wrong or missing?

:icon14: you're missing the under liner thingy that comes with the factory nismo bumper...that piece is sold separately and runs about $500. And I believe there are two versions of the zspeed under shroud...one for the base bumper and one for the Nismo. Are you sure you ordered the right part?

First off it looks to be bolted to far back it should be bolted starting at the bumper and working yourself back.

What Zbrah said...its the front splitter that attaches to the under tray.

Thanks for helping.

I assumed by the bolt pattern towards the front it was supposed to be bolted directly to the bumper.

Seeing the extended Nismo piece that bolts from there to the bumper? I see what your saying.

Thanks for sharing guys. I messages Mike @ CZP too.. Hope he will LMK what's going on.

You can probably reuse the original under tray in place of the zspeed one in conjunction with the front nismo diffuser, no need to buy both unless that's what you really wanted. The zspeed cover does offer better protection to the oil pan and has a convenient feature to change your oil without having to remove the under shroud each time.

Other than access to the oil filter and drain plug, what are the benefits to these parts?

My personal experience

OEM plastic tray:
  • Stupid expensive
  • Light weight
  • If the middle 3 clips are missing, it'll sag, especially in high heat (summer heat plus hot engine). On a lowered car, the sagging portion will rub the ground a lot more and eventually tear an opening, where bad air flow will produce this flapping noise at highway speed, making you think something is seriously wrong and seriously embarrassing. However, it'll sacrifice itself when bottoming out rather than destroying the mounting holes.
ZSpeed aluminum tray:
  • Relatively cheap, even the Nismo version.
  • Rigid. Doesn't sag even if the middle 3 clips are missing.
  • Easy oil filter access
  • Bad thing is if you bottom out in a bad angle, any damage to this aluminum unit is permanent and can tear the mounting hole/s
