Thoughts on Certain Kits
Hey fellas,
I'm seeing a lot of, what appear to be, "stick on" front lips, side skirts etc. Almost as if they mold around the stock kit. Some look VERRRYYYY tacky while others actually look pretty professional. What do you guys think? I'm a big believer in if your going to do it do it right. If you can't afford to do it right, don't do it. Thoughts? I wish I had some pics to show, hopefully you know what I am talking about... |
When you say,"stick on",I am assuming you mean that the part is attached using 3-M
tape. This is correct with most body add-ons. Depending on the part and location, some also use bolts that are already on the car. Side skirts is an example of this. Many front lips also use bolts from the car. Rear diffusers may need holes drilled and screws. Depending on what parts you are seeking and of what material(FG,Duraflex, carbon fiber) I'd recommend Shine. They make their parts in house in CA. The quality&fit is quite good. For smaller accent pieces like B-pillar covers(not needed on a R)or interior trim like door barrel covers,I like ZCFcovers.ZCF makes a neat rear license plate backing panel that really looks great( I have one-see my avatar). |
Got any pics of the ZCF covers? How do they compare with the EVO-R?
The nicest add on kit imo is Varis, nicest full kit is...Amuse (surprise surprise) |
