That really sucks and I am hoping I do not go through the same frustration as you have. Thanks for the update.
At this point all I have done is taken it to my local Nissan dealer to document and discuss the issue with the Service Manager and Body Shop Manager. They will do the repair but also want to review why it is peeling. I asked them to hold off, as I want to drive the car as much as possible while I can. I will not be doing anything at the dealership until I am ready to put the car away in late fall before the car is put in storage. In the meantime I have carefully sliced the paint where it was peeling so it does not look as obvious. I like the idea suggested by cdumitru78 to get a bit of space between the 2 surfaces so there is a minuscule gap. However, I am not certain about using doublesided tape. I was thinking about a strip of paint protection film in the gap with the adhesive side stuck to the plastic bumper. |
