Hmm, You probably didnt gain or lost hp from the actual position. Gained a bit from the better flow, lost a bit from the heat. However, chances are you did gain some low end hp (the response you are feeling) from leaning out the mix on the low end. Hopefully its not overly lean. If you hear something like marbles bouncing around in your cylinders, buy yourself something with a little more development, or get tuned....

I think that the "accordian" style hoses are killers with your set-up. The after-market intakes have smooth pipes that enhance air flow. Those OEM "hoses" do little for decent air flow.

^ That too, huge point. If you get rid of those, you will win.

Umm.......Not coffee cans! Phenolic tubing designed for (large) model rockets! Wrapped in a steel skin and insulated...
(although my very first design about 9 years ago used a 1 gallon paint can!)

Yeah...Easy to covert over to 2.75" silicone. More pics in my CAI album at the link below..(2) 45 degrees angles, a foot of straight hose and a few couplers to tap the PCV fitting into from http://www.siliconeintakes.com/index.php?osCsid=41081a7fa378234022cce2b1e50fd5b8
