Exactly the same as using the stick. You don't actually have control of the transmission - the stick and paddles are just switches that tell the TCM that you want to change gear.

I have the manual and know how to use it basically.

I just don't know how to use it for faster acceleration or other practical functions ..

I'll check whether the manual explains about it.
