Default Juke Nismo RS Recaro Seats

So I had once heard that you could find a killer deal on Recaro Nismo seats over on the Juke forum. Apparently they now have put the Nismo tax on them as well, because sets are going for $4K plus over there too. Anyone have any idea what it would cost to have a set of Recaro Sportster CS reupholstered in the Nismo scheme? Ballpark of a fair price? Trying to compare costs, I don't really care about the airbags in the factory seats. $4K seems pretty high when you still need to modify them to fit.

It all depends on material.

Call up Leatherseats.com

You can send in the cover of the recaro seat and they will make you anything you want.

They do really good work! I had my Evox recaros done by them.

Are the seats from the Juke RS a direct swap to the Z or would you have to flip the rails too?

Right lots of speculation about it but after using the search function (hey it's not Google right) I can't seem to find anyone who's actually done it.

The Juke Nismo seats are not plug and play for the Z. We did not determine what would be needed to get them to work.

But since then, they have added Recaros to the new Nismo Z. They are very similar to the Juke Nismo seats and from my understanding are plug and play

Seems as if you could just unbolt the seat rails from the seat frame swap and you're done... Inquiring minds want to know.

I was speaking with a tech at one my local Nissan dealers about this back in 2013. You are exactly right that it seems a simple rail swap would do it, and that's exactly what he planned to try first. But before he ever did, Nissan put Recaros in the Z Nismo making it much easier

Since we never made it that far, I am unable to confirm the necessary steps to use the Juke seats

Also both seats have air bags I assume it's the same plug and harness but can you just unplug them without consequences?

These were my seats in the picture I was gong to put in my old G37. To put it easy, NO they will not work. But truthfully yes they will. There is one member on here who has done it. The rail from the drivers side is welded to the seat and modified to allow it to sit higher and give it tilt function. My solution was to get the standard Recaro base frame from a sportster. Simple, except Recaro will not sell it separate. I believe the guy on here had to order from Recaro Europe, as Recaro US wouldn't separate that piece. From there it would be a simple seat install. Trick is getting the parts.

I've done this. Recaro will not sell you the parts you need. The Juke's seats sit much higher compared to Z seats therefore extensive modification to the base frame is required and you will need new mounting brackets. Also the weight sensor on the passenger side and the seat belt receivers are not compatible so you will need to transplant your original parts onto the Recaro seats. You will also lose height adjustment functionality during the entire process. In hindsight I feel it was more trouble than it's worth even though I got an excellent deal on the seats.

Damn, I was considering this swap as I am the market for a juke for a dd, but I'm glad I read through this thread. You make it sounds like it's way too much trouble for what it is. Thanks for saving me the headaches. Nissan sure doesn't like to make things easy.
