Painted Door Handles?
Hello all,
I'm currently getting my door handles painted by a local body shop in the OEM color to match my car. However, the shop told me since the handles are stainless, they will probably have some longer term issues with holding the paint. For those with painted handles, have you had any issues with yours peeling or degrading? Worst comes to worst, I guess I can get them sanded down and repainted if needed in the future. The price to do this is fairly cheap ($75 for the pair), but I'm just curious if anyone has had this problem. |
Never heard of this being an issue.
Contact equalme. He has painted many handles. |
Stainless? The handles are plastic. Fire your body shop.

I was thinking exact same thing.

Go get your handles back. Drop a deuce on his desk and hire a midget to crotch punch him. After you do that get a hold of equalme on the forum. |

You are putting your faith in a shop that cannot identify the material that they are applying paint to. This would lead me to believe that the end results of their paint job is not going to be great. While equalme's cost may be 3X higher, it will be done proper. If the jackwagons at the shop screw up your paint, you're out of the money and still have to pay more to equalme. Getting something done right, the first time, with excellent customer service is worth the cost of admission IMO. Just my couple 'o pennies. Good luck! |
Mine have been painted for a couple of years with no issues at all. Not even a chip
