Paint Job suggestions for stock RAYS...
 

Ok so now i've put my carbon fiber fang cover on from EVO-R and i tinted my windows 50%... I want to get my RAYS sprayed maybe charcoal but metallic or black??? Maybe the outlines in silver and rest charcoal ???

What suggestions do u guys have for a paint job for my rims?? Here is a picture of the car for you guys who are able to photoshop the ideas.... (my bad i also mean powdercoat them sorry guys)

dont paint them powdercoat them :D no matter how well u spray the rims itll chip cuz paint chips.... powdercoat can take more of a beating.... charcoal gray powdercoated would look indeed sick :D

I also think that white powder coated rims might look sick on a white Z.

In my opinion, if you change your wheels away from silver, you will have to either color match the handle to the body paint, or paint such that the handles and wheels are similar colors. With that said, I think a gunmetal-esque color would work great, especially with a tint and carbon fiber job going onto the car.

id probably go a shade or two darker if i had white. but it doesn't look bad the way it is right now.

Still so hard to decide..

This gets my vote, and match the handles to the same color as the wheels. You'd also want to / need to do something with the headlights to make it all match up.

What is that square under your headlight?

I don't think I have that...

yah, just leave it stock.

Auto-wash for the headlights, it is a feature I think that is required on all cars in Europe now.

I vote version two with a red lip. I'll do a PS tonight.

i vote for gunmetal....got this PS done a while back on another forum to get an idea as to what it would look like as well.

i say gun metal and match the door handles... and black out the headlights... that would be a winner

All I think this car needs with the Volks is to get it lower, tint the windows and get the flangs painted black or CF as far as cosmetic goes.

It already has the CF fang cover b.t.w...


There are alot of options for this car i think!!!... im gonna have to take a hard think of the next move i make!

Ill be going with White or Black PC I feel, going for tint job tom, my first mod ... lol

I'm getting mine powder coated gunmetal in the next few weeks, I will post some pics for you.

So booked my car for tomorrow afternoon i think im going with a dark grey like above because of my carbon pieces but ive always loved black rims like SeeYaBud86's car!!!

What you think? If I were to paint my RAYS, that's the EXACT color I would paint. Looks amazing (at least to me )

That was exactly the reference I used for my car AK, while not identical, in person they look very similar to that. Of course if I had the glamor shots of my wheels they would look pretty slick like that as well. Those red calipers really pop though, especially on that gray color...

man, that looks awesome! VERY VERY nice! :tup: Me having a blue car, I'm limited to what I can do with my rims. But if I had a while Z, this would be on my list.

I Showed him both and explained what kind of colour i wanted it was black base with a drark grey then pearl white flakes.

Came out exactly like i wanted imo haha..

Looks fantastic. BTW, are you planning on paining the brake caliper to red as well like the 40th anniversary?

I think that white is the best choice. Very classy. Rather than paint them darker, I'd just stay with the chrome.
