Opinion on seat brackets
I'm in the market for some seat brackets to go with my aftermarket seats right now and was wondering if anyone has any input on which seat bracket is best with our cars. The lower the seat position the better and with that said I will be mounting with sliders from the bottom. I saw on another thread that Planted seat brackets sit the lowest but I would like more input. Thanks

I went with Wedge Engineering and they fit very well. I did not have to modify for fitting or leveling. My Sparco seat sits just higher than oem.

I like sparco everything, everything is quality

It's the brackets that effect the hieght of the seat and it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you are under 6'.

cant get any lower than wedge. its about 1/8" bar stock.

In my opinion my wedge sits very high. I have it mated to status side rails and status seat and I have trouble fitting inside the cockpit with my helmet on. I'm only 5'9 so not terribly tall, perhaps I have a longer torso but I feel like if I hit a bump I'll compress my spine.
A friend uses brides and he sits much lower, not sure if he's side mount or bottom mount rails though. |
Buddy Club!

Buddy club and bride FO.
The buddy club look like they go just a tad lower than the Bride rails, and also look a bit lighter, since the side brackets are smaller and there's no connecting plate between the two sides. My Zeta IIIs and FO rails definitely sit lower than stock. |
I heard wedge sits even higher than oem as they were made to fit oem seats. Buddy clubs look promising

I don't think they were made to fit oem seats, but to mimic the oem brackets. Their fitment is spot on but because of side brackets and racing seat design they set you slightly higher than oem. They are extremely well made!

my sparcos are side mount too. I had to modify my mounts and cut a small notch out of the bottom of the seat to get it as low as possible, but its because of the side mounts, not the brackets.

I got the Sparco HD side mounts and the seat sits a couple mm above the bolts on the bottom of the side mounts. I'm not sure of what else to do other than shortening the hieght of the legs on the bracket.
