Door handle sticking/not opening
Anyone had problems with the opening the door after unlocking?
I don't know if its the door handles or maybe the cable behind the panel is not secure, but when I unlock my car with the alarm key fob, door handle either is a little stuck or doesnt open the door.. Gotta check this out and hope its not oem problem, but more of cause I did have front speakers put in and maybe cable is not seated or aligned properly.. |

I really do believe are cars are pretty bug free for a first year car. Go look at a Camaro's list of issues and I think you will laugh about the Z's rear hatch. Quote:

I joined "my370Z.com" recently (early October), and I've read quite a few posts on the hatch thingy; I must admit that the door handle issue you mentioned is a first for me. My point is that Nissan seems to drag bugs (little nuisances, still bugs, though) for years, prior to correcting them. You have going for you the fact that my '04.5 Touring Coupe didn't inherit most of the '03 model maladies. I meant no gloom'n'doom forecast for your beaZt, dude! And, yes, the Camaro already had, at least, one recall on some electrical system component. On the engine, cooling system, ATs, body integrity, electrical system, etc., our Zs are very reliable, no doubt---although MTs seem to be a bit clunky.

[QUOTE=kdoske;270712]I'm not just saying this because I am an obvious Z owner, but I don't agree with that at all. Is there a rear hatch problem, well yeah on some cars. Has it been fixed--yes. Is there a door problem--no. Just cause one guy comes on saying his door doesn't open doesn't make it a bug accross the whole assembly line.

I posted to see if anyone else has this problem as a search turned up nothing..
Again, I had 6 1/2 speakers in the door and an alarm too. Taking off the panel, installer might have misaligned the cable in the panel..Was too busy to check this week, so will have to wait till Saturday..Im not blaming quality at all, just wondered if this was problematic or not as fix doesnt sound too bad to do myself. The way I see it, oem parts and quality is darn good and better than my Subaru and about the level of a Lexus IS250 at least (worked on one and drove around in it a few times). As for domestic cars, I will never again buy one ever again if JDM cars are around...I had my share of Pontiac Firebirds in the 80's new that broke its tranny (5eat) twice and I sold it with 30k on the odometer.. Domestic cars have lots of HP and TQ, but the reliability isnt there and quality is neither (than Ive experienced). I since then bought a new 1990 Mitsu Eclipse GSX that lasted 15 yrs and died on me at 135k with power mods through my colleg days....Till now, I still have my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT 5 spd that dynoed 323hp and 376TQ at the wheels and only problem was a cooling fan relay and trying to sell as with my new toy Im hoping this Z will give me years of fun and avoid the dealership as much as I can ..
