Thoughts on Wings
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys. Wanted the community's opinion on something. Eventually, I'll want to get the amuse body kit for my Z, but I don't like the spoiler in that set.
Attachment 108949 I'm looking for a large wing that won't obstruct the rear view. The view area out the back is small enough as is without something else being in the way. Any ideas as to what wing I should go for and how tall it should be? Thanks in advance. |
A few people have duckbill spoilers, they don't obscure the view as much as some other high wings. Though there are some benifits to a higher wing, my Nismo wing perfectly blocks headlights from blinding me at night.

lol.. that duckbill (looks kinda funny) probably blocks rear view too?
anyway these cars should have a rearview camera installed anyways, id get the amuse rear spoiler for your amuse body kit. but i like my z simple so i only have a ings splitter and mines rear lip. |

I love my Amuse spoiler. |
Get the amuse spoiler if you're going with the amuse kit

APR wings give the most visibility and functionality. Or you can go aeromotions and pay BIG$$$. Kognition made wings for a while and man were they BIG!!!
If you want a functional wing at a decent price get an APR-GTC300. For Style go with Amuse. |
The original nismo body kit is functional, some 140ish lb at 70mph. The amuse kit was wind tunnel tested but can't find any official figures for it. But nothing like a full race setup but that's not what the OP is looking for.

Don't get me wrong here, guys. I'm sure the amuse wing that is part of the kit is very nice and compliments it very well. It's just not the kind of look for my Z that I would prefer when it comes to wings/spoilers. What I would like is something more along the lines of this:
Attachment 108955 I've taken a look at the APR-GTC300 that bullitt5897 mentioned, and that looks pretty good. Any idea how high that thing sits above the deck lid? I want to make sure it clears the rear view, and is not right in the middle of it. Like I said, it's hard enough to see out the back of a 370Z without a big horizontal flap in the way. Thanks again for all the input. |

as long as it looks like it belongs on the body. Matching lines and flow with the body. Im personally not a fan of the large spoilers people use on the track or when they are ricers.

There are quite a few options like the Amuse, Nismo, and APR wings that you're aware of.
There is also the Carbon Creations N1: http://s17.postimg.org/f8tcxsuvj/carbon_creations.jpg The Mines carbon add-on: http://s16.postimg.org/eczt6bqw5/mines006.jpg The Varis GT (which looks like it MAY impair your ability to use the rearview a bit): http://s21.postimg.org/rfe2km2tj/varis_gt.jpg And the Impul: http://s16.postimg.org/u2ay6j8bp/imp...body_kit_2.jpg -Seth |

I think the amuse wing fits great with their body kit. IMO it is the best looking aftermarket kit for the 370z but expensive. |
I like this one

Nismo wing goes through the middle of the rear window. Visibility is not a problem, Everything that needs to be seen is in the bottom portion of the window anyway, there is nothing that needs to be seen in the top part.
What I do like about the Nismo wing vs sport wing, is that I can tell where the car ends now. |
After all these pictures online of the Amuse kit, I've actually begun to grow a little more interested in the Amuse wing. Only question about it: How much, if any, does it block the rear view? I do want a substantial sized rear wing, but want to make sure it doesn't interfere with the rearward visibility. Can anyone who has an Amuse wing on their Z inform me a little on this issue, or anything else I should know about the Amuse kit overall?
Thanks. |
The view aint so bad. Its actually better than the nismo wing in terms of view. The gap is big enough for u to use the rearview mirror. You wont have the full view but its still enough.

Pictures of wing visibility are in the wing section of the post.

It was from the post cooltoy directed me to regarding the installation of the Amuse kit by yourself. Here's the link to that again just in case. Thanks cooltoy for bring this awesome post to my attention. You rock, bro! http://www.the370z.com/2921701-post70.html :worship: |
