Post Thoughts on Rearview Mirror

Hey Z fans. My car does not include the tech package (probably a good thing since I want to eventually get a CarPlay screen in there). So the standard interior rearview mirror is... well, kind of basic. So, I wanted to get a new one in there with auto dimming. I was thinking about the CIPA 36400 Wedge Auto Dimming Rearview Mirror. What do you folks think? Is that a good one, or would you suggest something else?

Cheers!

Check ebay for a gentex homelink mirror. I am about to get one myself.

Search in the diy section for homelink mirror install. Plenty of info there.

A compass is a really useful option.

yah, compass is basic but when you're in a large parking garage in the city and the entrance and exits are on adjacent sides of the premise, it does help to know which way you're going sometimes especially at night while gps is finding the satellite between tall buildings..

I got a used gentex off ebay with compass...

I think (memory is fuzzy) you have to buy one out of another Nissan to get the Amber compass.

They're generic so really any of them will work assuming you need to wire it in yourself and not replacing one from a tech package. You can grab a wiring harness off ebay as well.. I recommend getting one that comes with the wire cover. I paid more to get my cover from the dealer only to realize it's generic.

If you have a base, I'm assuming you have to wire up the gentex or is it fully wireless?
