Looking for a Quality Provider of Touch Up Paint in Aerosol Can
tl;dr: I have a 2009 370z in "Vibrant Red" (color code: A54). I'd like to see if I can take care of this myself using touch up methods I've read about and a quality provider of aerosol touchup paint. I looked at: Touch Up Paint and Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup but after googling, found a TON of bad reviews of them here on this forum, so I'm hoping that some of the good people here can recommend a quality provider of touchup paint.
Whole story: So I went out the other night and parked in front of the bar I was at, passenger side of the car by the curb. I come out to leave, get in my car and go to pull straight forward only to hear "urgghhhkkk" (scraping of some kind). This perplexed me (not to mention making me want to puke, lol) as I was literally pulling straight forward. So I get out, go over to the passenger side of the car only to find that somebody had wedged a giant rock in between my sideskirt and the curb so that when I pulled away I'd **** up my car. I tried to pull it out, but at that point the 4 inches I had pulled forward literally made it impossible to pull out...so I had to pull away. Long story short, my entire sideskirt has 0.5 inch wide scrape from front to back.

I used AutomotiveTouchup before but it was for the headlight housing to match the Monterey Blue Pearl color. It honestly matched perfectly and I can't tell much of a difference in color.
It sounds like you have a bigger issue than just painting headlight housings. I think I would have the side skirt professionally repainted but that's just me. Not sure how well the rattle can touch up will blend with the existing paint. Just wanted to mentioned though all and all I had a good experience with AutomotiveTouchups paint and quality. Been three years now in my headlights after being in the sun and haven't noticed any issues although it is protected from the elements too. |
