Calling All Cars with Fujimura Diffuser

I'm debating between the Fujimura FRP rear diffuser and the carbon fiber version. For those of you who have the FRP version, what's the factory finish like? Is it a flat or matte black? Is the finish dull and rough such that it needs to be painted, or can it be installed "as is". RHD Japan describes the finish as "gel coated" ... whatever that means. Depending on the finish, I'll decide whether to go FRP or CF. Any input is appreciated!

imo, CF.

Frp will requires paint! That means extra costs.

CF and BS ftw! Based on my experience alone expect not have an issue with either one. FRP will need to be prepped before painting anyway so if there are any imperfections it will be addressed before painting.

rhdjapan shipped in 30 days or so vs 60 - 75 by air by the other Japanese e-store. Price shipped is virtually the same. You have some decisions to make. If you don't have plans for additional CF mods, go for the FRP.

I would say CF, then again that is the one I went with...

I went with FRP gel coated...Reason being, I just can't do the rear deffuser in CF and feel every other piece would have to match (ocd/anal). The factory finish is glossy actually and has super excellent fitment. You could paint it if you wanted it to match the color of the car or a diffrent type of black. I put mine on as is (out the box) on the car. Here is what the deffuser looks like. Hope this helps.

Please take note that when installing this product use hardwear provided and better tape (VHB). I found that taping it about half an inch from the edge helps hide the tape and only taping the top works best with supplied hardwear at the bottom. Just my :twocents:

Would the Fujimura CF diffuser match up with the CF fangs? Both CF but made by different companies.

kenchan 09-02-2015 03:25 PM

yah, the weave sizes are the same or very similar to the evo-r fang. it matches my mine's rear spoiler lip too.

I agree. That is exactly my point. As for vhb tape, I never run out. It is like duct tape. Gotta have one in your garage all the time.

Thanks to everyone who posted replies. The pics were especially helpful. After reading the replies and doing some additional homework, I decided to go with the FRP version, and ordered it from RHD Japan. Reason: I don't have plans to make any more CF mods ... and the photo provided by 1st was spot on in terms of allowing me to see the finish and appearance of the diffuser. Again, thanks for your input!
